북미에서 현기차가 연비 문제로 시끄럽네요.

북미에서 현기차가 자사에서 제시한 연비가 실제 연비와 맞지 않아 소비자들에게 배상금을 물어줘야 된다고 합니다. 

미국에 Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) 미국 환경 보호국 이라는 곳이 있는데 이곳에서 최근 3년간 북미에서 팔린 현기차의 연비를 테스트해봤더니 현기차에서 제시한 연비보다 훨씬 낮았고 이로 인해 그동안 소비자들의 손해를 현기차가 배생해야 한다는 결론이 났다고 하네요. 헐... 이제 북미에서는 연비 정말 정확하게 측정해서 팔아야 겠습니다. 

현기차는 연비 표기 오류가 고의가 아니었다는 입장입니다. 아무튼 배상은 피할 수 없을 거 같습니다. 그런데 어떻게 생각해보면 이걸 어떻게 배상할지... 애매하네요... 마일리지 별로 일괄 계산해서 배상하라는 건지... 

이렇게 되면 우리나라에서 판매된 모델들도 연비표기가 잘못되었을 수 있다는 건데... 현기차의 향후 대응이 주목됩니다. 

추가적으로 EPA에서는 다른 자동차메이커들의 연비도 조사를 해서 테스트 결과와 맞지 않으면 배상을 걸 예정인듯 합니다.  수많은 자동차메이커 중에 현기차만 1순위로 걸린게 참 ... 그렇습니다. 현기차도 요즘 북미에서 잘 나가다 보니 시기를 받나 봅니다.
